We should totally not send an offer sheet. Colorado has filed for team-elected arbitration with O'Reilly.

COL has, in fact, elected club salary arbitration on Ryan O'Reilly. Had to be filed by 5 pm ET today. And it was.

This means that when the arbitrator comes back with a number, O'Reilly can choose to take that number for one or two years, his choice, and the team
has to take it. If he takes the two-years, he'll be a UFA at the end of that, and the salary-arbitration process is supposed to be just murder on the relationship between a player and a team.
We've already sent the signal to O'Reilly that we want him in Calgary (at least, Feaster did) and he's indicated by signing that offer sheet that he'd be open to playing here.
Wait two years, then sign him as a UFA right when we're starting to trend upwards.
