I mean difference makers in the sense that Flames are 3-5 years away from contending for the Cup and Hudler isn't going to be there then or if he is he isn't going to be helping much. So if you can trade a guy like Hudler for a younger guy that can turn into a 2nd liner when the Flames window is open then it makes sense.

Difference maker doesn't have to mean an elite guy. Probably should have said contributor instead.

I would say trade Hudler for a 20-22 year old that looks to have 2nd line/2nd pairing potential makes sense for the Flames. Reason other team does it is because they want the 2nd liner now.
