My point is that there are remote places that you want your bike to get to in order to enjoy them but sometimes the path is too difficult to get there or you are reluctant to try to bike. Maybe you know you might make it there but you might not make it back again. An e-bike helps in that circumstance.

IE: there's a really cool scenic lake at the summit of a mountain with great bike trails but you have to either bike or hike up several kilometres of mountain to get there in the first place. That's where electric assist would encourage me to actually go. In that way I could actually enjoy the destination instead of being too tired once I got there.

Perhaps I want to visit my friend who lives at the opposite end of the city. Normally I would be inclined to drive because it might be a distance I was only confident of making a one-way trip on (and not the return) but if I had e-assist, I wouldn't be so hesitant to go.

It's a safety net for confidence and real-world safety so that you don't over-exert yourself and find yourself unable to get home again.
