As far as e-bikes, I'd never ride anything like what combustiblefuel has, but I'm seeing some aluminium and carbon e-bikes on the market that look very attractive. I'd be interested in getting one of the models that looks more or less like a regular bike.

The Specialized Turbo has a hefty price tag but I can definitely see this as a tool to get you to those remote, uphill, and/or distant places that you might be hesitant to try biking to simply because of how tough the journey might be. There's a few places in the Rockies that I would love to be but don't necessarily want to struggle up a couple of mountains to get to first. It'd also be a nice commuter although there is really nothing challenging at all within city limits that a normal bike can't handle. This is definitely a purchase I will look at in the next couple of years as I (being a latte sipper) slowly stop driving altogether as much as possible.

Ya I like the turbo. I have rode one. Its has a nice feel for a p.a.s system. You'll have to make sure if you are In Alberta that you wear a motorcycle helmet on any ebike .
Ya I claim my spelling is bad because A) I do drink to much and I am working on that and B) I never actually pay attention enough to correct my mistakes.
