I find the tough guy antics are usually in ice as well. Problem for them is, in Vancouver atleast, that ice here is essentially "Can you skate well? You're the new best player." So they have no shot, no ball handling skills and no real pace cause they are used to gliding. They get frustrated and get dirty get ejected and blame the referees.
It must be opposite down here then, because it seems like the guys who play ice generally respect the game and players moreso then the ones who sign up to be s*** starters.

When we did co-ed ball hockey, we had a guy lay one of our girls out over the boards.

Chalms got kicked out for laughing once too.
