Oh there are definitely top of the line race bikes with them (not totally legal yet, mind you).
Colnago frame, full electronic Campy gruppo, and fancy wheels, and more carbon than a coal mine, and you get top of the line pretty quickly.
I've seen a couple builds in the shop I train out of that were >$16k.
