I think baertschi, gaudreau, M. Reinhart, and granlund all have a good shot to make the team.

I have to believe that gaudreau was told during the contract talks that he would be given a fair chance to make it on the big club in September. I'm sure it was worded carefully though... Something like "if you commit to your training in the offseason, show up to camp prepared, and have a solid camp... then there will be room for you on the opening day roster." That leaves a lot of "ifs" on the board for the flames to use as an excuse to send him down but if he does all that, they'll have no choice but to keep him up.
