The problem with that is that it will be extremely difficult to either get rid of that contract or get the buy in to send him to the minors. Johnny can freely move up and down so if need be he can be moved down until they sort out the Jones thing since he is still under contract.
That is one of the reasons I don't think Gaudreau starts the season. With Monahan it was either stay or go to Jrs for the year. That scenario isn't there for Gaudreau.
