I'll post the same thing I wrote in the other thread on this topic:

If the team was named the "Yellowskins" and had a Fu Manchu-esque Asain caricature for a logo, NOBODY would be defending it by appealing to history/tradition and saying how it's not really offensive. I don't see why a team named the "Redskins" with a Native American caricature for a logo is any different.
