The event tonight was great. The food spread and offering was generous and appreciated. The meeting wasn't as informative as past meeting with Jay Feester who basically spelled out the strategy. The answers were all common sense and didn't offer any major insight to the direction.

What I noticed is that Treliving is extremely thorough, mentally focused and terminator like in his approach. Also, the fact of his experience at the NHL level, but more importantly the junior level, will really give us an advantage in drafting and player development, which the Flames have been thoroughly lacking.

I liked the consensus between Burke and Treliving on the above and their common thread of drafting correctly and developing correctly.

While the entire management crew was able to crack some good jokes, Burke by far was the most unpredictable. He was funny, smart and looked like he just ate an old spice deodorant bar. He's very personable and down to earth and not as prickly as he comes off on TV with the sound bites.
