Why the hell should they sing or play for free? That's their labour of love, and they don't need to be dishing it out for free just because you think they should to entertain you.

Perhaps the person asking is willing to share their career skills for free, too? "You're a stock broker? Cool! Give me your best stock advice!"

I feel sorry for musicians sometimes.
