Why the hell should they sing or play for free? That's their labour of love, and they don't need to be dishing it out for free just because you think they should to entertain you.

I feel sorry for musicians sometimes.
The context is tough to read in this gear grinder. Like they hear he sings/plays music and they go "cool, you're a musician, play something for us!!!"

Or like "hey, you're a musician? We have a corporate event coming up and I was supposed to go hire entertainment, but now that I found out you're a singer, you can do it for free!".
