Posting this on behalf of a family member:
What grinds my gears is if you're a musician or a singer, people usually ask you to play something or sing something when they find out that you are. For free.
Why the hell should they sing or play for free? That's their labour of love, and they don't need to be dishing it out for free just because you think they should to entertain you.
Perhaps the person asking is willing to share their career skills for free, too? "You're a stock broker? Cool! Give me your best stock advice!"
I feel sorry for musicians sometimes.
