I don;t think its movies or video games or heavy metal music, it is the glorification of these guys after the fact. Before this no one gave a crap whether this tit lived or died, now everyone knows his name. To him and his ilk, he has already won.
Yep, I agree. Seems so obvious that this is the problem. So many of these guys, if not all of them are in that teen-early twenties age range where there seems to be a such a desire to be some kind of important, grand person. It seems like a tough task to reel in the media on this, but it seems they should take some responsibility on it themselves. They do it with suicides, why shouldn't this kind of thing be treated the same. The Sandy Hook guy, California guy, Boston bombers were all turned into almost household names.

These stories are just not that important, that they have to consume the news outlets for weeks. Many, many more, good, young, innocent people die tragic deaths across North America every day without us knowing about it. Social media is harder to do something about, but I'd guess if the regular media was more low key about these, the social media stuff would be lower key too.
