Says on their site, 'heat signatures' dunno if that's what you are talking about. But one thing I'm seeing now is that it's obviously far more effective at night, which was the scenario I watched. Though, this scenario is night as well.

It's definitely better at night as there are fewer heat sources (e.g. hot roadways) around to confuse matters, so that's one thing they'll have going for them if they have that technology available. I know of no other special tech that they could use in this situation - just the usual spotlight and zoom.
At this juncture, unless he's out in the open, FLIR won't assist much. My concern is he's now most likely holed up somewhere, waiting for the police to come to him. With some luck his camo getup isn't just for show though, and he's decided to camp out in the woods where a helicopter has a chance of spotting him. This is a really dangerous situation all around.
