A hands forward pull up isn't as easy as you think or claim for most people including young athletes. This isn't using the bicep muscle it's using the brachialis and brachioradialis muscles which unless you do a lot of rowing or shoot bows it doesn't develope easily.
Hockey players at his age usually train for skating and have a big heavy lower body compared to training the upper for a fricken pullup, Gary Roberts couldn't do one at his age. did he have a motivation problem?
Oh and by the way, less than half of NHL hockey players show up at camp with 10% or under body fat.
