10 years tonight, Thursday June 3 2004...."The Shift". Recall rushing home from work, setting the VHS tape (superstition, as I did before every game that run) and getting to my buddies house where we watched all road games.

"The Shift" both for Iginla, and Marcus Nilson in Game 5 OT of the SCF; great chemistry between the two on this shift.

- The shot from Regher almost went in, as did the rebound at 7 seconds
- Blatant hold from Lowry on St. Louis at 19 seconds.
- The loss of helmet by Iginla, but then the great puck retrival by Nilson, who then gets into the perfect spot for Iginla to do a behind the back pass at 30 seconds.
-Igina/Nilson show continues, with another blind pass by Iginla, knowing where Nilson would be, at 38 seconds. From that point, Nilson was looking only for Iginla, and made a fantastic cross ice pass through 3 Tampa players at 49 seconds to setup the slapper.
-Nilson and Iginla hug away from the main pile
-Simon, with only 1 skate, jumping on the ice at 1:49...Lowry not joining the pile, rather going to Kiprusoff.

Cool story time; I had two tickets for Game 7 in Tampa, was still planning on going, but sold them after this OT game as no way I could go if the Flames lost Game 6 at home.

Unbelievable feeling after that game...by now even those most skeptical or superstitious Flames fan had to be excited...Game 6, Saturday night, at home in Calgary, to win the Stanley Cup...perfect....even the most guarded fan had to feel that this was really now, somehow, going to happen......
