I specifically told our dispatch there was no fire and I cancelled the other Engine. The driver was able to limp the truck off deerfoot before it shut down on the McKnight turn off.

So I'm driving home and I hear on the radio there was a semi on fire at Deerfoot and 64th.I know the media listens to our scanners but wtf?? Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story I guess.
The quality of what passes for "journalism" has taken a huge nose dive in the past 2 years in my opinion. I mean news/reporting have never been able to get all the facts right, but it seems like most media outlets have laid of all their fact checkers, and honestly don't even pretend to bother anymore.

As much as I love twitter I'm sick of seeing stories like "locals upset with traffic delays!" followed by 15-20 embedded tweets.
