One problem they will face is the first at fault collision or fatality will be blown out of proportion. It wont matter how bad people are at driving if the machine isnt perfect it will be judged as a failure.
As for timeline Nissan was saying 2020 for its first model. So by 2030 it probably is in wide spread use so 2050 by the time drivers are off the road which puts me about 70.
