If you're willing to diet, and workout, supplementing may be an option.
I to was always underweight for my size, well into my 20's. I tried everything, from whey powder and protein shakes, to excessive exercise and dieting, nothing worked.
Until I found Creatine Monohydrate. I was able to put on 40lbs in just under 6 months. Initially it was mostly water weight, but with regular exercise and a decent diet, once I stopped the loading cycles, I only lost 10lbs, so a net gain of 30lbs in just a few months. This got me to where I feel comfortable, and more physically fit. My exercise and diet have basically stopped for the last few months, and there hasn't been any weight loss, which was an issue in the past. If I wasn't constantly working on maintaining weight, I would lose it quickly.
Might be worth a look, but do your research.
