I wasn't suggesting we should send them to Syria either before court or after. I was simply making a jab at what they consider "torture" and in humane treatment. I think their definition of torture may change if they had the experience of being detained in those countries.

As for detention, just because the system is built on the idea of "innocent until proven guilty" does not mean that they have a right to remain free and run around the country side. People are remanded for many things, the more serious the charge, the more likely hood of being remanded until one is found innocent or guilty. Being held until the trial is over does not mean one is guilty.
