There was a guy on the news the other night who was asking for people to help him in his fight against JW. Here is a link to the story from when he first filed suit. link (interesting website, but it is a CP story quoted in full)
On the news recently he said he has run out of money for legal costs, and hopes someone will take up the cause, or help him continue.

From my experience, the JW's dont look all that professional when they are out and about trying to convert. My guess is that the 2 guys wandering your neighbourhood are Mormons. They are almost always in suit and ties. The nice thing with them is if you tell them not to come back, they won't.
