Long story short - he's pounding the inside of the zone with his sinker a ton more with two strikes after setting up hitters away.
It's always good when there's some sort of quantifiable adjustment to point to when a pitcher has a great start to the season. His BABIP is at .290 too which is right at his career norms so his success isn't a product of batted ball luck. Hitters will start to adjust to Buehrle's adjustments at some point, but who knows how long that will take. |
It's tough to adjust to pinpoint control, even if it is coming in at 84 mph.
