I found/read that article a month or so ago. Pierre McGuire is the perfect example of someone who out thinks himself. He's quite interesting and passionate on TSN Radio 690 in Montreal. I think he is a great at dissecting the game, and even dissecting players. However, as the article states, he is lacking in his ability to build a team, or as Harley has stated, make the team act like a family. I would imagine his passion for a player or players would cloud his ability to build a team.

I'm fairly thankful we have Treliving, who mentioned that there is no empirical analysis or stat that can determine how well Player A gets along with Player B. Pierre is good at what he does, but I often find a lot of his shtick as charismatic and trite, without the authenticity that would cultivate a culture of mutual respect.
