I had a really solid folding table kicking around, pulled the base and skirting off of it. Bought a sheet of 1 & 1/4 plywood from a lumber yard that had a damaged corner for next to nothing, was cutting the corner off anyway. Bought some cupholders off of ebay for cheap, think they were a buck a piece. Used some laminate flooring rubber underlay for under the felt to give it that perfect feel. Used some large foam pipe insulation to wrap around as a padded rail, worked great. The only expensive thing was the felt from Southern Music. Whole thing was probably less than $200 but required some elbow grease to build. Still looks good after 8+ years.
Edit: ^^ if you don't want to do the work those tables look well worth the money. The rails and woodwork are nice. I would personally recommend against getting wood however, just felt is best.
