I'd maybe like to see Gaudreau play with which ever center we are likely to get this draft going forward a few years. I d like to put Baertschi on the left with Monahan and Colborne as soon as next year as I thought he had pretty good chemistry with Monahan at the start of last season. Add an improving 6'5 winger on the other side and you could have a very solid and productive young line.
Gaudreau can learn the ropes with a more experienced guy like Backlund for a year or 2 until Reinhart, Bennett or Draisaitl is ready to make an impact. It certainly wouldnt hurt for Gaudreau to play with a defensively sound guy like Backlund to start either.
