The play wasn't dirty as I've seen all the replays and Kreider was coming in very fast with the puck trying to score on the breakaway and just lost his footing. Jeff O'Neill on TSN said it best as when you are going in on a breakaway the last thing on your mind would be to ensure you hit the goaltender in the event you blow a tire as the play just happens too fast and scoring is the only thing on your mind. If the NHL wants to crack down on crease crashing I'm fine with that but it has to apply to all goaltenders (not just star goaltenders) and be called consistently as Flames fans know all well Kipper took a beating at times from teams while officials looked the other way.
It's a team game and riding one player will only take you so far. Injuries can happen to any player on the ice and it happened to their goaltender who just happens to be their best player. Sucks for them but the rest of the team can still pick up the slack if they truly are worthy of playing in the Stanley Cup Finals.
