People seem to think firing the coaching staff is some kind of voodoo-mind trick that will make them better in the playoffs. I've got news for you, the sharks were one hell of a hockey team this year, and their coaching staff deserves tons of credit for that.
Sometimes the puck just doesn't go into the net enough. I feel like people sometimes think that by firing the coaching staff they can somehow act on their frustrations and change things. The fact is that luck is a huge factor in hockey, and if a team makes it to game 7 while playing good hockey, they could have won the series. Firing the coaching staff in a situation like this is like getting someone else to flip the coin because it didn't land the way you want it to.
If a coach can get good hockey out of a team, keep the coach.
