The marketing angle on these is great, a simple eye catching package that is the polar opposite of anything else in the beverage cooler. Saw a pallet of em at Co-op this weekend and the shelf presence is fantastic. The amount of people stopping to pick one up and seeing what exactly this strange looking box was looked to be quite high when I was at the grocery store.
So for that reason alone they'll sell a ton. People will pick it up, be lead to believe they are making an informed/responsible decision and changes are we'll see these things everywhere this summer. But the practicality of "oh hey, every cup holder in every vehicle is round" will eventually prevail, and 5 years from now we'll be looking back and saying "hey, remember boxed water?"
Anyways, cool packaging from a design/marketing point of view.
