Ya, I'm sure if tallon offered the #1 pick for Brodie, we would make that deal in a heartbeat. I like Brodie but I don see franchise defenseman, #1 defenseman or greatness in him. I think the "he plays for the flames so he's going to be awesome" mentality is at work here for some.

Every fan base overrates their players and prospects. If you were to poll GMs around the league on who they would take between Brodie and either Ekblad or some of the other guys mentioned in this thread I think some might have their hearts broken.
