It's the keeping up with the Jones' effect in full, and I mean full force in this city. All young families with the "Calgary" dream.

Young, rich city, filled with lots of people who aren't actually rich, but feel social pressure and a desire to fit into that lifestyle. I know this happens everywhere, it's not Calgary specific, but it sure is noticeable here.

The following are "needs" for so many young families in this city...

-New starter home, gotta be new so they can pick all of their "needs" to be designed/installed

-New vehicle for both husband and wife, can't be seen in a 2007 in 2014, that shows that you're not keeping up, errr sorry "These vehicles met all of our needs"

-Annual vacation to talk about for the next 6 months. The 6 months after getting back will be used to talk about the next vacation. Gotta have that upcoming vacation to bring up when everyone else brings up their next vacation. No upcoming vacation = trouble in paradise.
