I actually have the hard covers - I couldn't wait for the paperbacks...
And I really didn't have problems with books 4 or 5, or at least not like many people seem to complain. My only real issue are/were: the whole length of time between books that supposedly had been written as one, and the sheer amount of filler.
Awesome, we're getting lots of back story and character development but that is adding hundreds of pages, screwing with the flow and delaying the actual story.
It is like creating the Directors Extended Cut - he may be in love with those scenes but they aren't really helping anything move along.
