Actually I believe the 4 years only applies to players drafted from countries/leagues without an NHL transfer agreement, prior to that teams would hold their rights until they were UFA age.
So if my understanding is correct a player drafted from Sweden would have to re-enter the draft, like Erixon would still have to re-enter the draft. But a player drafted out of the MHL like Rafikov the team would hold their rights for 4 years.
