I sort of agree on this. The bloom is off the rose a bit, but there isn't a team in the league that would not take a flier on Sven Baertschi. He's highly skilled and has shown he can produce in the NHL. The Flames are trying to make him a complete player, which all of the top teams in the league would do with their own players. The combination of both offense and some level of defensive responsibility would make him a dynamite player. The only question is how long does it take to achieve that state, and is he a good fit in your organization.

I do agree with this. The Flames are very heavy on the left side and weak on the right. I could see the Flames going after a top end prospect on the right side or on the blueline and use Baertschi as trade bait. It is not a matter of Baertschi being worth less than what he once was, its a matter of having to give to get. Baertschi is a very good bargaining chip to use which could expedite the rebuild by bringing in a player of quality at another needed position.
