They're a better team this year but I don't think they'll get over the hump. To put things in perspective playing at this clip it will take them 21 games to get back that sweep they gave to Colorado. I think the whole idea is to keep alive until Burnett returns.
It's pretty amazing that the Jays are so close when essentially they've had to fill 2/5 spots on the rotation all year long (Burnett's injury and Towers' play). Factor in another spot when Chacin went down as well and it's almost 2.5/5 spots. The Jays just haven't been able to get those 3 or 4 consistent starts in a row needed to sweep a series and the trouble keeping their projected starters in the rotation is why.
