I think that with Treliving hire we will definitely take Draisaitl if both Sams have been taken.

In some ways, this could be a very good outcome. It means that the Oilers will have taken one of the Sams, who are both excellent players, but neither of whom get their top six any closer to being able to play a possession game against the large WC. The Oilers top six is built to score off the rush, and that doesn't win you hockey games in the WC.

Phoenix was and is the opposite of the Oilers in many ways - big bodies who can play a possession game but lack high end skill. LA has both - high end skill and very big bodies. Draisaitl fits that mold better than either Sam in my opinion.

Of course, if it's true that Draisaitl is coveted by the Oilers, and a Sam does fall to us, we take him and run.
