In 2004 (actually, I think it was after the Phoenix game when we clinched) I got to sit in his seat in the broadcast booth, then I met him down in the hot stove lounge. I was actually kind of laughing at myself how exciting it was for me to meet this legend that I grew up with.
Sad to hear, and I truly hope he is going to enjoy retirement.

My memory could be off, however I thought Metallica played the Dome the night the Flames clinched against the Yotes. Which means they were on the road. Like I said, I could be wrong, but I think I remember checking my phone during the concert and telling the people around me that they had clinched.
