I dissagree with one thing. It's not just about "what" to say, which I agree Sven needed to work on and, from the last I heard from his more recent comments he has figured out and started to be better about.

But more importantly, it's about what he CHOOSES to do and focus on given he's been sent somewhere he doesn't want to be. From what I heard, this was the issue. Rather than focus on what the team wanted him to work on, and what can he do to improve the things they wanted him to work on, initially he choose to look around him and try to establish whether he thought he was being treated fairly in comparison to his peers (so rather than say what can I do better to stay, he chose to ask why does person X get to stay and I don't) and focus on whether or not he feels he was given the right tools to succeed (who was I playing with, did I get enough and the right ice time). Essentially not enough internal reflection, too much external blame.

But the above, pretty common way to react for a young man in any situation. People confuse the idea that Sven might have an attitude problem to mean one thing, that he's a dick and arrogant. From what I've heard, not the case at all, he's a nice guy who really wants to do well and cares. Just needs to learn how to focus that energy and desire properly.
