NBA scheduling is what's up. This is nothing new, the NBA has been doing this for about a decade now. They've stretched out the first round to extreme lengths so they can get as many games as possible on national TV. Dallas-San Antonio and Miami-Charlotte has gone Sunday-Wednesday-Saturday. In a few years there has been FOUR days between games (so Sunday-Thursday-Sunday, usually involving the Lakers). If the Canadiens and Bruins both swept their series, they could be on Game 1 of the East Semi's before most NBA first round series got to Game 4. Embarrassing but it's not going to change.
