Maybe, but I don't buy that. GMs, coaches, etc won't intentionally tank for a player when they could very well be fired for a lost season. I highly doubt Sacco, Pierre LeCroix, Eric LeCroix, the assistant coaches and the AGM all sacrificed their jobs and Sherman got demoted to pencil pusher just to help Colorado get a top pick when they're not even with the team anymore.
