That's not absolving the jerks that spoil things but really the power to avoid spoilers is mostly in your own hands. You can either a) read the books, or b) not read or discuss Game of Thrones on the internet. Otherwise you're opening yourself up to the risk that you'll encounter a jerk, which on the internet, is a virtual certainty.
People who prefer the show should be able to watch it without having key plot points spoiled for them. Especially in a thread where they have repeatedly asked for the plot points not to be spoiled. They're not going all over the internet, they posting in a specific thread that is supposed to be spoiler free. Is that too much to ask?

There are tons of movies and based on books or comic books that have come out years before that I haven't read and I certainly wouldn't appreciate having them spolied for me either.
