There was a window (albeit brief) where many considered him the best player in the league...and the only reason he didn't lead a team to a cup is because the ref didn't see the puck go in.
It's true wingers are not usually the Drivers, but Iginla proved there are exceptions ( as did Howe, Jagr and Richard before him).

Has anyone claimed Iginla was a secondary piece? I think Iginla with the Flames was pretty much the pinnacle of what you could accomplish with your best forward by far being a winger. They were a bounce away from winning a cup in a year the team went on a magical run but after that the team was never really an elite cup contender. That's not Iginla's fault as he was never paired with an elite center with the Flames.
