Or when those morons get continually manipulated by the therapist to the point that you just can't help but laugh at them.
Or when James says that only rock can be made between the times of 1 to 4 pm and no one else in the band can work on it.
Or when Lars is all sulking in the bar when Newsted stands him up after his new band's show.
Or when they write those amazing lyrics by committee and saying, yeah that sounds cool. So the lyrics that make it are the ones that 'sound cool' instead of the ones that mean anything? And by the way, "My lifestyle determines my death style" neither means anything or sounds cool.
The best part is when Lars starts crying when he sells his preposterously over-priced and overrated giant paintings of pain and suffering.
Seriously, that movie had me glued. It was goddam hilarious!

There's no denying that in some scenes they look like *******s especially Hetfield. I agree he shouldnt have skipped his son's birthday to go to Russia or that he shouldnt have been so picky about them only looking at stuff when he was there but that was part of his control issues that he had that made Newsted leave and that the therapy they went though helped him get over that and "grow up".
I really dont blame Lars for being ****ed at Newsted for doing that. If you would have watched the extras on the DVD you would see just how much of an ******* Newsted was before and after he left. Any sympathy I had for him went out the door the scene that he phones them and bitches and moans because nobody told him they would be performing before a Raiders game in the parking lot. You arent in the band anymore. Why the hell should they let you know what they're doing. The whole thing with him not being able to do his side projects had nothing to do with Lars and was all to do with Hetfield. If he wanted to stand up Hetfield then ok but doing it to the rest of the band just showed how much of a baby he was. He was probably ****ed because he probably figured once he left the band would just call it a career or beg him to come back and James would give in and let him do his side projects.
"My lifestyle determines my deathstyle" does mean something. If you're an alcoholic and you dont get help you'll die because of alcohol. The whole meaning of the song is living your life way too fast and not caring what happens. You might not think it sounds cool but alot of people do. I actually thought it sounded cool when I first heard it. And lyrics that not only sound cool but mean something make up a good song. The production on St. Anger might not be great but something it doesnt lack is meaning in most of the songs. Listen to Sweet Amber, The Unnamed Feeling, and Purify and you have a good understanding what Hetfield went though fighting alcoholism. Listen to All Within My Hands and you see how much regret he has for how he treated Newsted.
And it looks like you missed the meaning behind Lars crying over selling his paintings. Those paintings meant alot to him but they also respresented what has happened the last 10 years or so and he wanted to get rid of anything that reminded him of the bad things (the Napster backlash, Newsted leaving, .etc) about those 10 years and wanted to move on.
Only somebody that has a serious hatred or bitterness against them would laugh at things like that. There's many celebrities out there that I dont care for but I dont laugh when something bad happens to them. I have more class than that.
