And you are right that this is the way EA is going, that's why I jumped ship to counter strike global offensive. Game costs $15 bucks, Valve still releases new maps, they let the community make new ones and if you want to play them right off the bat in competitive mode is costs something like $2. Which you can easily make from just selling the skins you find in game. So no I don't think that nickle and diming gamers for content is the way of the future.

Valve is very much the exception. Virtually every other company charges for similar content. Epic, Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft, Capcom and yes EA. You can say it's not the future all you want. It's already happened and it's standard practice within the industry now.
