That is because fans are idiots and looking for a scapegoat. 4 months later Bouwmeester was invited to the Team Canada summer camp and 1 year later Bouwmeester was playing a key role for Team Canada so people who are involved in hockey knew his value.

Wideman was a top 4 defender..injurys happen. And Russell is showing he's a 3-4 on any team. so Cammy and Hudler aren't top six players? First year of Kipper retiring and your complaining about trying a couple of goalie prospects in a rebuilding year?. Ramo looks as good as at least half of all starters in this league.

Wideman was the 6th defenseman for the Capitals the last time he played for them. In the play-offs they realized how much of a liability he was and did their best to hide him.
Russell was waived through the league and played okay last year. He was a mediocre to bad top 4 guy on the 4th last team in the league.
Hudler and Cammy won;t be contributing at all for this team when they are competitive again so I guess go for him for bringing two guys to help us finish 25th and 27th.
Ramo looks at best to be a 25-30th starting goalie and even that is a stretch.
I didn't even bother mentioning his repeated best guy outside of the NHL BS, Cerevenka being a winger but Feaster claiming he was a center, the disaster that was the O'Reilly offer sheet from the potential to lose the picks to the fact that it would have been an awfl deal for a mediocre player if it was successful.
