The main area we lack is the highest end skill guys. We only have Gaudreau and Monahan that are in that upper tier. Baertschi, Poirier, Granlund, Janko, and Klimchuk could join them, but we still have to wait and see.

I'm not saying use first round pics. But second an third rounders.
Colbourne is a top six type. Ferland, hanowski, knight are all still question marks to even play in the show as regulars.
Max Reinhart could be a third line centre.
I think Poirier will probably end up as a third liner.
I love Paul Byron as a third line energy type.
But we need guys like lance bouma for the fourth line. Guys like Brandon Prust. Jordan Nolan on LA. They can fight, hit, block shots an chip in offensively. I think for our forward prospects it's out biggest weakness (only Ferland really).
We have a ton of small top six forwards that are going to need protection. Klimchuk, Monahan, Gaudreau, our first this year, bartschi, granlund. Those are pretty much all of out best prospects. So the fact some say we need to draft more small forwards early just doesn't make sense.
