But surely unplanned crimes of passion or rage have been occurring since the beginning of time. That is what I mean by "snapping". And it's something that could happen regardless of past mental health issues.

fair enough, I would be shocked if there were not some major signs of mental illness in recent days for the accused...again we will know more soon. If his own father thought he was suicidal though there must be something there
