If he is saying that nobody just "snaps", and means that nobody is just mentally healthy and becomes mentally ill in a split second, then I can see that.
But surely unplanned crimes of passion or rage have been occurring since the beginning of time. That is what I mean by "snapping". And it's something that could happen regardless of past mental health issues.
