Victims are really close to my age, and I knew several people out partying for BSD (no facebooks or anything today from a good number of them yet). Definitely some worrying going on from my end..
If this guy wasn't on some kind of substance at the time, I don't know how he could go around to 5 people and stab them repeatedly, you'd have to be in a fit of rage or suffering from some kind of mental illness. But to me it doesn't sound like someone had just ticked him off at the party, it sounds like he had thought about it before going in. I just don't know how somebody does that, then again another several times..
