Calgary will be nowhere near the playoffs next year, people should be checking their expectations. Yes, the team played well since late January, but its still largely an AHL team. Some guys will get better, some guys will drop off. Next season is still year 2 of the rebuild. I think theres still a strong possibility the Flames still take a step back before making a real step forward to becoming a team that can do it over an 82 game season and compete with the best teams in the league. They need to stay the course and keep making good use of these high draft picks.
